Shana Luther is a collection of leather bags created for people who appreciate handcrafted bags that look anything but. Our brands ethos is rooted in modern, clean design made with thoughtfully sourced materials and impeccable craftsmanship. We design each bag to fit seamlessly into a woman’s wardrobe with original and simple, yet detailed design elements. Influenced by modern women, our inspiration comes from the laid-back, yet totally chic Brooklyn style we see everyday. Shana loves designing bags for the creatives and professionals who love fashion but don’t necessarily always follow it- much like herself.

MATERIALS

We try our best to only use US based vendors when sourcing materials for our goods. We like to form lasting relationships with them and because of that, we are able to maintain quality control on the materials coming into our studio.

Our 100% cotton lining is sourced in the US. It’s a modern crosshatch print and we use it in 3 neutral color variations, because we don’t like searching for items in a dark, somewhat bottomless bag;-) We love the crosshatch print and have been using it for years.

LEATHER

Leather is a natural material and it’s unforgiving when making it into bags. It originates from an animal and we wholeheartedly respect that and keep that in mind while working on our goods. If you mess up a stitch, there’s no coming back. It’s tough and just gets better with age. It’s badass. This is why we love leather. We source our leathers from two US tanneries and take great care ensuring every hide meets our expectations. We use our signature leather for most of our collection which has a subtle pebble effect and a soft, yet very strong hand. Our leathers are extremely durable and are made into bags that will last a lifetime. Your bag will get softer as you wear it and break in beautifully over time. We like to think of ourselves as little leather snobs over here…

PRODUCTION

Almost our entire collection is produced in house, however some aspects of our bags are outsourced to local handbag manufacturers. Most of the straps on our bags are produced by a family run company located in NYC’s Garment District. This helps us in many ways and it streamlines the production process for us.

We’re huge sticklers for quality craftsmanship and we won’t sell a bag that we don’t 100% stand behind. You won’t see uneven stitching on our bags. We believe in buying quality goods over fast fashion and in supporting small businesses across the globe. We love what we do and hope you do too!
