My name is Martie Pollard, I live in Southeastern Connecticut, and I am known as The Crafty Bandit. I reside in Gales Ferry, which is a town adjacent to Mystic, CT. I love that not only am I blessed to be living along the eastern shoreline, but I am halfway between Boston and New York - two of my favorite cities. I am the middle child of fifteen children. I have four older brothers, four younger brothers, three older sisters, and three younger sisters. I am married with two grown children, two grown stepchildren, three elementary school-aged children, and three pint-sized dogs. I have been employed with a local municipality for nearly twenty years, and on occasion have been heard to say "that I come to work to rest". My dad was an artist, and many other family members also appear to be gifted with pen and paper. For me, it is more in the paper than in the pen. I have been scrapbooking for a long time, but barely ever seemed to find the time to dedicate to working on a project, let alone complete one. I attended a card-making class at a local parks and rec program in the spring of 2012, and was immediately drawn to the instant gratification of the process. A whole scrapbook can take months, yet a card can take just minutes - Whoopie! The more I sit and play with paper the easier it becomes, and the more I want to ditch my other responsibilities and just play...The great part about crafting is you can do it on your schedule, so I do. After the kids are tucked in I cut, paste, stamp, cut, emboss, cut again, and repeat!
