Custom Orders
Kate Maller Jewelry welcomes inquiries into our Customs design process. Though easily confused, Custom jewelry is not the same as Made To Order or One Of A Kind pieces.
We view our Customs as a collaboration. We similarly will NOT copy the designs of another artist or jeweler as we strongly feel it undermines the value of artistry and destroys the integrity of the handmade process.
Adel Chefridi comes from Tunisia, a land steeped in cultural diversity on the Mediterranean Sea in North Africa. Adel spent his childhood surrounded by rich multi-cultural influences that have inspired his creations for decades.
Adel moved to New York City in 1998, where he studied at GIA and the Studio Jewelers School. His signature design element is the engraving, which stems from Adel’s fascination with the beauty and meaning of symbols and patterns. He finds the simplest forms — dots and lines — the most captivating. Moonstones, sapphires, tourmalines, and turquoise are among his favorite gemstones, all of them hand selected. Adel is committed to ethical practices in jewelry making and conflict-free sourcing of materials.
In 2008 Adel and his wife Corinne moved their family to the Hudson Valley. Today they live and work in Rhinebeck, NY, where they maintain a showroom and studio. In 2010 Adel opened a sister studio in Tunisia — an exact replica of his space in New York.
